Can an existing, in use technology can be patented?
David Berlind has written an interesting article about Microsoft's Patent saga of RSS.
Microsoft has applied to patent RSS - the Internet Content syndication system, which everybody is using since long!
The case looks similar in nature - A commercial firm tried to patent Anti-Bacterial-Properties of a herb called turmeric, which is known and in use by Indians since ages!
It is quite unlikely that this patent will be granted to Microsoft.
